The best thing about this restaurant is of course the view and the feeling of dining at a top-floor restaurant. But it's a top-floor restaurant, not top drawer. The service and food are OK. The steak in the main course was regular standard. It didn't have the juiciness or pazazz that I've found in other high-end restaurants serving steak for the main course. And I brought a birthday cake for my wife, and the waiter cut three small slices from it in the back, and brought them to us on dessert plates before the starter. The surprise of having a birthday cake and cutting it herself were ruined, not to mention that it should've at least been brought at the end, not while we were still having our aperitif! This was resolved by the manager who put the three slices back in the cake, decorated the cuts, and gave us two glasses of prosecco on the house. In the end, it was a lovely experience, and we will definitely go back again, but the waiting staff need a little more training on the details. And maybe the main course should be extra special if it's the only option on the menu (there was no à la carte; it was a "surprise" menu this day).
de receptioniste bij ontvangst en die waarschijnlijk ook de telefoon opneemt past net bij het service niveau wat de Penthouse wil uitstralen. Ik vond haar in het telefoongesprek ook onbeschoft. mijn gast (vegetarisch) kreeg tot 2 x toe een verkeerd gerecht voorgeschoteld met vlees.
