We had an amazing time at Gs! The Bloody Mary's are fab, tasty food & friendly staff. Thanks for such a great experience in Jordaan, Amsterdam!
Fast and friendly service. Excellent food and ambience. Comprehensive menu. Highly recommend although you generally need to book well in advance for a weekend sitting.
the bloody marys are awesome, the menu has something for everyone and the charm of the venue and staff was delightful. i totally recommend brunch!
Great food and drinks, very cool and cozy atmosphere, very nice staff. Book a table before. But it's also worth a bit of waiting outside. The kind staff will do their best to get you seated.
Please avoid this place if you have any interest in having a nice meal. Awful service from start to finish. Our first waiter forgot many drink orders, we were brought a glass of white wine instead of prosecco and the waiter insisted it was prosecco until he realised what he had served us. When 2 of the girls at the table enquired about the glasses of wine they ordered he told them that they hadn't ordered anything - when clearly every single person at the table had ordered a drink .. We had a good 20 minutes to think about it before they took our order so we knew what we wanted. He seemed stressed but instead of just saying sorry he was rude - probably out of embarssment of all things that had gone wrong and we had only ordered at that stage. One person asked him if there was any bread we could have (as we were right beside a bread station where there was plenty of loaves).. He said 'we don't usually serve bread with pizzas' .. She commented that this is the third time she's been here and has always gotten bread .. He obviously couldn't have been bothered to cut up a bit of bread and we were given some scraps. This male waiter actually appeared to have walked out on the job half way through service. Which was so unprofessional it was actually funny at that stage to see the place so out of control. We waited 1 hour for pizzas to come out in random instalments, wrong pizzas were made and the waitress asked us to eat them anyway, when almost everyone politely said no thanks we rather wait for the food that we ordered - she said please, who will be nice? Who is nice here to eat the pizza? - that was probably the most shocking part. I still can't believe she asked us to eat something that no one ordered - it's your mistake not ours. 3 people had pizzas and she came around and took the order again. Meaning they obviously didn't know the order and hadn't started making it yet. One pizza came without cheese and again asked us would we be nice and just eat it without cheese. Really? By the time the last 2 people got their pizzas, almost everyone had already finished. They were fine but you'd be better off going into a Dominoes where you'd find better pizza and better customer service. And finally when it came to asking for the bill and commenting that we assume something would be arranged after everything that happened, the other extremely rude and probably embarrassed woman mentioned that she didn't think there was that much drama to be getting anything for free.. We had a couple of cheap drinks taken off the bill with no apologies or trying to rectify the situation. Will never be returning to say the least. They have no idea how to run a tiny place on a Saturday night and should probably look into something called customer service in the future. If you can't handle groups, don't accept larger bookings - it's as simple as that.
One of the best bloody mary's I had. Great selection of brunch food. One of the few places that has eggs benedict, and grilled halloumi. We had to wait 15 minutes for our table to be ready, even though I made a reservation in advance, but after that everything went quite smooth. The place is quite small and gets packed during noon, a courtesy of the Jordaan neighborhood. Overall, a really hip place it constantly reminded me of the cool breakfast spots in the USA.
Gs Jordaan is a win every time. The service was spot on; interested & efficient but perfectly casual. And our food was delicious, made to order and just so fresh. We're going back for the Hungry Drunk!
The food was fantastic - we loved the bloody marys too of course. We were visiting Gs in Jordaan from Rotterdam and had some problems on the day trying to reach the restaurant to let them know of our delay; it was pretty frustrating that there is no contact telephone number for it. Even though we were late our table was not ready when we arrived and so we were also asked to wait outside until the guests at our reserved table left. We thought that was a little odd!
G's Jordaan was a very pleasant experience! The location, drinks & food are awesome! We had Eggs Benedict with Avocado & Salmon, and Lemon Tart as dessert. Tasty and good value for your money. Really busy on the weekends, so I'd recommend making a reservation beforehand!
There was no chicken, and no muffin for the egg benedict. That makes the grade much less due to the pricing that they have. heard a lof of great stuff from Gs and it was nice but i dont understand how they can't have enough stock on a sunday
