Van Speyk is een mooi en sfeervol restaurant. De bediening is vriendelijk en heel attent. En het eten was uitgelezen lekker. Ondanks de drukte werd het fijn op tijd uitgeserveerd.

This was our second visit to Van Speyk - we ate in the restaurant on Christmas Day before. Special Christmas menu this time but food very good. Nice atmosphere in the restaurant and nice friendly staff.

Prima brasseriekeuken en omgeving. Alles mooi verzorgd, van het servies tot de attente en vlotte bediening. Beknopte maar aantrekkelijke wijnkaart. Reserveren is noodzakelijk, zelfs op een donderdag na nieuwjaar.

Prima service, goed eten. Alles naar wens. Vooral goed omdat ik mijn tafelgenoten goed kon verstaan. Dat kan ik vaak niet in restaurants. Geen hinderlijke muziek, obers aanwezig wanneer ze nodig waren, maar niet te aanwezig. Bier- en frisdrank aanbod mag wel iets uitgebreider.

Ons dinner bij Van Speyk was gewoonweg heerlijk. Echt af, kon niet beter. Wij komen zeker terug. Ook de setting is dik in orde alsook de professionaliteit en de vriendelijkheid van de staff. Top!!

Een idioot scoringsmodel waarin 6 de hoogste score is...! Van Speyk verdient een hoger cijfer dan dat: we hebben namelijk genoten van het eten, de sfeer en de fijne bediening.

Love is nice and cozy and personnel are equal friendly and attentive. But the food is truly a big disappointment. The meat quality is good enough but preparation of it is just below average. Starters where ok but nothing special. Great wine menu though. Would not come back

Nous avons reçu un très bon accueil. La cuisine servie est de qualité. Ils proposent une très belle carte des VIns à des prix raisonnables.

We had a great meal at Van Speyk. The service was both welcoming and helpful and the atmosphere was warm and comfortable. The interior is smart with a lovely mix of old world and new. We started with lovely cocktails and had delicious main courses. The yellow fin tuna was particularly delicious. The deserts were fantastic. So often we eat a great main course and are disappointed by desert but not at Van Speyk. The blood-orange sorbet was sublime and the cinnamon ice-cream delicious. We finished off with coffee and excellent Amaretto. It was a great meal and the bill didn't hurt too much so we look forward to returning to this excellent establishment.

Ons (in Canada wonend) 2de bezoek aan dit restaurant. Wij hadden de scallops, en de Hollandse oesters vooraf, de zeetong als hoofdgerecht en twee lekkere desserts na. Alles prima en smaakvol opgediend. De bediening was fantastisch , zelfs toen het restaurant vol liep werd onze wijn steeds bijgeschonken en af en toe gevraagd hoe alles smaakte,

The serving was too fast, the whiskey sourbwas not prepered properly, i ordered the lamb fillet but instead was served the fillet of beef. The personal was very polite but seemed unexperienced. All of the food was cooked very nicely but was lacking enough seasoning. Overall an average experience, and the background music was much appreciated.

Both service and food were excellent and the wine list was very broad, with wine across a wide price range. We would definitely eat here again.

Food was really good and service was excellent. The management mentioned that a child under 12 is technically not allowed to dine there. It's probably due to dark ambience inside which may not be best suited for children.

Fantastic food and super cosy atmosphere. We were most impressed with our waitress, who was very sweet and always had a smile. She made our experience even better!

Was weer top! Aanrader: oesters, carpaccio en zeker de grüner veltiner! Als hoofdgerecht is de tonijn top en ook de lam! Voor iedereen is er wat wils.

Het eten was heerlijk. De medium gebakken biefstuk was van goede kwaliteit, alleen te gaar gebakken (misschien door heet verwarmde bord teveel doorgegaard?) Groente mag wel wat meer zijn. Wat voor ons wel echt punt is , zijn de prijzen, vooral de wijn. € 7,00 voor een glas huiswijn vind ik wel erg prijzig.

Really enjoyed our Visit. Great food,great atmosphere and superb service. My wife said her tuna steak was the best ever. Well worth a visit if you are in Amsterdam.

Heerlijk lekker eten, mooie setting in een oud pand, toffe ambiance en heel vriendelijk personeel vanaf de binnenkomst tot mijn vertrek, wat wil je nog meer... :-)

This is my second visit. It was a Very nice dinner and the highlight is the onion soup and the rib eye steak. Just too full for the dessert!

Our dinner at Van Speyk was fantastic! Great food and top notch service. The house salad, beef stew and steak with sides of asparagus and mushrooms - Wow! We would definitely come back next time we are in Amsterdam. Highly recommend Van Speyk!

Super bediening en heerlijk gegeten met vrienden. Fijn restaurant voor een avond weg. De kaart biedt precies voldoende keuze en houdt daardoor rekening met verschillende wensen zodat ieder aan tafel kan eten zoals hij of zij zou willen.

Uitstekend,mooi restaurant, mooie sfeer, vriendelijke ontvangst,personeel was vriendelijk en attent,het eten was heerlijk,en goede wijn ,menukaart was erg goed,we waren met 2 personen, komen zeker een keer terug,top!!

This r stairs to seems like a tourist trap. Expensive for what it was. Small portions, and not as described on the menu (spinach salad was rocket). Ok, but not great food.

Fantastic food and fantastic service. Could not have asked for more... I asked for advise on wine to go with the menu scallops and tunafish steak and got a great lokal dutch whitewine.

Ik was er met Amerikaanse vrienden en toen we om de wijn vroegen werd de dure Nederlandse wijn voorgesteld. Vond ik toch een beetje jammer, want zo fantastisch was die wijn niet.

The food is exceptional, we had the carpaccio as starter and the classic beef stew as the main, both are very delicious. The ambience and decor are very classy and the service from the staff are great too. Can't rate this place high enough. For a 3 day weekend, this restaurant is definitely one of the highlight!
